On the threshold of Armageddon? Jerry Falwell wrote: “It is apparent, in light of the rebirth of the state of Israel, that the present-day events in the Holy Land may very well serve as a prelude or forerunner to the future Battle of Armageddon and the glorious return of Jesus Christ.”

Falwell’s August 27 sermon at the Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Vi

FALWELL: I expect the Lord to return in the 21st century to Rapture at his church. Now, I can’t prove that. I cannot prove that the Lord is gonna come in this century. No one knows the day or the hour, but in my heart I believe it because there are no more predicted events that need to happen before our Lord can return.

Falwell has built a shtick out of making ridiculously offensive statements about his detractors. A shining example of this was the statement he made two days after the 9/11 , while the wreckage at world trade center was still smoking:

“The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gay and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU , People for the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America, I point the finger in their face and say: you helped this happen.”

Ladies and gentleman we got  problems!! Lots of it! I believe we got lots of people walking along side us with very good hearts but no brains!! OOPS!

Sometimes, a grilled cheese sandwich is just a grilled cheese sandwich. But don’t tell that to the woman who saw an image of the Virgin Mary on her grilled cheese and sold it for $28,000. Or the woman who saw her image on the underbelly of a turtle….. Last few weeks alone, devotees of the Virgin Mary have found her in chocolate drippings in a Southern California candy factory, the belly of a pet turtle named Mary and in a pan that catches grease drippings from a gril. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4034787.stm

“The fact that stares one in the face is that people of the greatest sincerity and of all levels of intelligence differ and have always differed in their religious beliefs. Since at most one faith can be true, it follows that human beings are extremely liable to believe firmly and honestly in something untrue in the field of revealed religion. One would have expected this obvious fact to lead to some humility, to some thought that however deep one’s faith, one may conceivably be mistaken. Nothing is further from the believer, any believer than this elementary humility.”

Hum…..must be others not me !! :-)

Mere musings…

Can mirror symmetry of a human being be traced back to a symmetry at cellular level? In the game of life (cellular Automata) symmetry is conserved.

Where the biological clock comes from? Why is a second our unit of time? We can not comprehend anything on smaller time scales. Is it the heart beat that sets our bioclock? Anything within cells? You bet!!

If we improve the resolution of our bioclocks we may live longer. Why our life span is so short compare to age of the universe? Does it have to do with earth orbit?

In measuring the length of a costal line the smaller your ruler the larger the length of coast line (Fractal geometry). Can same thing be applied to human life? By using more precise perception of time we may live longer?!!

Why our physical size is much larger than atoms? (Schrodinger).

Is there any phenomenon in nature that makes “Recursive function ” calls?

Mathematician says no to a Million dollars!!

Poincare conjecture solved!!

Grigory Perelman from St. Petersburg has challenged the Creator and explained to him the ABCs of the Universe. The world has not been turned upside down, but offered Perelman the Fields Medal, often described as the “Nobel Prize of mathematics,” and a million dollars. But, surprising the world once again, the genius has turned down all worldly blessings, and retreated to his tiny apartment on the outskirts of St. Petersburg, which he shares with his mother.

My guess is that the fellow spent too much time in the 4th dimension trying to solve this problem that does know how to get back to our earthly 3 dimensional world and spend the money!! ;-)

Here is what it’s all about: Good luck!!
